Application Information

Starting your application will generate a unique URL. Use it to access your application from any device at any time.

To complete the shared application, you will need:

  1. A valid email address for each applicant.
  2. A valid government-issued photo ID for each applicant.
  3. A smart phone to scan each applicant's ID and face.
  4. A credit/debit card to pay marriage license fees.

Most applicants pay $71.75.

Using your Digital License

1. Apply for your marriage license online
  • Each applicant will fill out their portion of the same marriage license application.
  • A license from any county in Utah can be used anywhere in Utah.
  • The license expires in 32 days; there is no waiting period.
  • Use a smart phone to scan your government ID and face.
  • Pay online with a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit/debit card; most pay $71.75 (International Shipping Extra)
  • Improve your relationship and save $20 with the Marriage Education Discount!
  • Receive an email with instructions for using your license.
2. Send your digital license to your officiant
  • When your license is issued, you'll be directed to the Officiant Information page.
  • From there you can send an email to the person performing your ceremony.
  • You can also print the Officiant Worksheet if it is requested by your officiant.

    2. Have a friend Become an officiant.
    3. Use our list to find an officiant.
3. Have your wedding Ceremony
  • Participate in a wedding ceremony performed by an authorized officiant.
  • Ceremonies take many forms and can be as unique as the couples who have them.
  • Your officiant will complete the online Officiant Submission and Affidavit.
4. Receive digital and paper marriage certificates
  • Digital copies are automatically sent after the officiant submission.
  • Paper copies will be mailed the next business day.
  • Order additional documents, services, and copies if needed.
  • Your certificate is proof of marriage for name changes and other benefits.
