Jeanne Bowen works at the Utah County Treasurer’s office but is known for her friendly, helpful personality county-wide. Congratulations to Jeanne for being named Employee of the Month for August 2025. Her co-workers nominated her with the email:
“Jeanne Bowen is a true public servant of Utah County. Jeanne is always willing to go the extra mile to help the public as well as other Utah County employees; she is willing to go above and beyond for anybody who needs help. She has served on UCEA and Well 4 Life for many years and always ensures her office and those around her are informed. She encourages us to participate in activities and to complete health challenges. She leads by example and forms “teams,” and can be seen taking walks on her breaks and encourages others to do the same. She tries to make things better for her fellow employees. She also contributes to risk management and is on the board for the Utah Valley Roads Special Service District. We often joke that Jeanne is the smartest one in the building. If she does not know the answer, she will find it! Oftentimes, she will walk with a taxpayer to different offices to help make sure all their questions are answered and taken care of. She offers to do everything possible to help a taxpayer. If there is a difficult, rare, or confusing problem, Jeanne is the first to step up and volunteer to find a solution. She is very thorough in her day-to-day job responsibilities. She is also a licensed notary and is always willing to drop what she is doing to assist the public and other employees with notaries. Jeanne is a very empathetic person; she listens and talks with taxpayers or anyone around who needs a listening ear. We have watched Jeanne help someone figure out the bus schedule and walk them to the nearest bus stop after they came in to pay taxes. We have also seen Jeanne assist an older person to their car to ensure they had the right paperwork and would not need to come back into the office. Any time Jeanne is in the lobby, you can hear her asking, “How are you?” or “Can I help you find something?” She is a very dedicated employee of Utah County; she rarely takes time off, and she never hesitates to stay late or to help someone at the expense of her lunch hour. She truly is here to serve the taxpayer. Jeanne is delightful to work with. She is fun and a very daring person. She is known for having a once-a-year “weird food day” where she invites others to bring and try weird foods. Our office would not be the same without her, and Utah County is lucky to have her as an employee.”
