Public Hearing on Proposed Land Swap at Bridal Veil Falls

June 9, 2025 Release: 8:00 PM

To facilitate more efficient and timely improvement and maintenance projects, Utah County is proposing a land swap with the Forest Service in the vicinity of Bridal Veil Falls.

A public hearing on this proposal is for Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the County Commission’s 2 pm meeting at 100 E. Center Street in Provo.

We are actively working with the Forest Service and our Congressional Delegation to create the legal path to accomplish this. If you haven’t yet had an opportunity to provide feedback through our surveys or other engagement efforts on this process, we’d love to hear from you. But we’re also interested in the public’s feedback.

The immediate goal is to enable the county to create an enhanced and safer viewing area at the base of the falls to allow more room for pedestrians, runners, and cyclists.  The current design is a bottleneck that has created ongoing safety concerns.

The potential land swap would involve Forest Service land near the falls and land of equal value at adjacent County land in Provo Canyon. Ultimately, this effort hopes to streamline the project’s construction and ongoing maintenance.
