Jordan River Trail Remediation Project Nearing Completion

April 21, 2025 Release: 2:00 PM

Jordan River Trail enthusiasts have noticed construction on the trail near Lehi. The good news is that the projects are nearly complete!

Utah County Public Works is in the final stages of the Jordan River Trail Remediation Project near 2100 North in Lehi. The project, which began in mid-January 2025, focuses on repairing three key sections of the trail: the North End, Middle, and South End. Completion is scheduled for May 15, 2025, with the trial expected to reopen shortly thereafter.

Due to erosion, the North End section required bank stabilization. That stabilization work is now complete, and the trail reconstruction phase, which includes asphalt paving once temperatures are sufficiently warm, is set to begin soon.

The Middle section near the Thanksgiving Point Trailhead Park sustained significant damage during the 2023 flooding. Even though repairs in this section are complete, the park’s parking lot will continue to serve as a staging area for construction equipment until the project concludes.

Work is ongoing in the South End section, near the 2100 North overpass. Trail bank excavation and reconstruction are currently underway. This section is approximately 75% complete.

For public safety during construction, the Jordan River Trail is temporarily closed from just south of the intersection with the Murdock Canal Trail to the Olympic Park. Detour signage will guide trail users along alternate routes.

Utah County thanks residents and trail users for their continued patience and cooperation during this critical remediation effort.
