Utah County Employee of the Year is Crystal Thorne

Crystal Thorne of the Utah County Criminal Justice Center is our Employee of the Year for 2024.  Crystal stands out for her compassion, exceptional communication and collaboration skills, ability to work with team members from different agencies, and overall contribution to the well-being of child victims and families in our community. 
Crystal's remarkable communication skills are especially crucial as she works with child victims. Her balance of empathy and understanding while ensuring appropriate boundaries has profoundly impacted the children we serve. Crystal has an unwavering commitment to providing support that is sensitive to each child's unique needs and creating a safe and trusting environment. She can perform exceptionally at this challenging work while maintaining her composure and providing a calming influence on the job.
Crystal is an invaluable mentor to their multidisciplinary team members. Her willingness to share knowledge, provide guidance, and offer constructive feedback has dramatically enhanced the professional development of her colleagues. Crystal's mentorship style encourages a collaborative and learning-oriented atmosphere, fostering growth and cohesion within the team.
