Applications Being Accepted for Utah County Constable

NOTICE OF OPENING OF UTAH COUNTY CONSTABLE APPLICATION PERIOD AND NOTICE OF APPLICATION DEADLINE 

Notice is hereby provided this 26th day of November 2024, pursuant to Utah Code Section 17-25a and Utah County Code Section 2.05, the Utah County Constable Nominating Commission (“Commission”) will accept applications for the position(s) of Utah County Constable. 

The terms of office of the current Utah County Constables will expire on December 31st, 2024. To qualify for consideration, an individual must be a certified special function peace officer in the State of Utah. In addition, if appointed, the individual must avoid all conflicts of interest and must maintain a public office, and be accessible to the public and to the court during the hours the court is open. Those individuals interested in applying for the position of Constable should send an email expressing their interest, together with a brief description of their credentials, qualifications, experience, and eligibility for the position (including special function peace officer certification) to boards@utahcounty.gov 

The Commission must receive all applications on or before Friday, December 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

The Commission will review each applicant’s credentials and recommend to the Board of County Commissioners of Utah County, Utah, the nominees it finds most qualified by majority vote. The Board of County Commissioners will then either appoint or reject the nominees. Those individuals appointed will serve for a term of six (6) years, subject to reappointment as provided by law.
