The Utah County Fire Marshal's responsibilities are to enforce currently adopted fire codes and Utah County fire prevention ordinances, and to conduct fire safety inspections of all business and hazardous material operations within unincorporated Utah County. Building plans, fire suppression system plans, propane plans, and burn permits are reviewed by the Fire Marshal to maintain fire safety and compliance to adopted codes.
The Fire Marshal serves as incident commander for structure fires and certain other emergencies responded to by contract fire departments. He also has the primary responsibility for investigation of fires within unincorporated Utah County.
