OSCAR ALONSO NUNEZ

On April 23, 2018, Oscar Nunez, 35, was found guilty of two counts of Sodomy Upon a Child, two counts of Rape of a Child, and one count of Attempted Sodomy Upon a Child, all first-degree felonies.

Oscar Alonso Nunez, who was living in Vineyard, Utah at the time, repeatedly sodomized and raped an eight-year-old girl over the course of eight months. The young victim disclosed to her mother and was examined and treated at Timpanogos Hospital and Primary Children's Hospital. She was also forensically interviewed at the Children's Justice Center.

Following four days of trial and over fifteen hours of deliberation, the jury found Oscar Alonso Nunez guilty of sodomy and rape of a child, each of which carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years to life in the Utah State Prison.

Immediately following the verdict, the Honorable Judge Thomas Low of the Fourth District Court of Utah ordered that Nunez be taken into custody forthwith. Nunez was booked into the Utah County Jail to await sentencing on June 6, 2018.
